Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Liberty Church Yukon, Inc. based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
Liberty
We believe Liberty is the expression and extension of God's saving work in Christ. Genesis to Revelation tells one long story of God setting His people free from bondage to sin, self, slavery, and Satan. To "redeem" means to set one free from slavery by payment with a ransom. Liberty comes from the power of truth and of God's spirit. It begins in the individual and may spread to family, church, community, and even a nation. (Exodus 3:8; 20:2; Leviticus 25:10; Luke 4:18; John 8:32, 36; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:1)
The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, without any error, the all-sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter. 1:19-21; Matthew 5:18, 24:35; Acts 28:25; Psalms 119:105, Revelations 22:19; Isiah 8:20; Ephesians 6:17; Romans 15:4; John 5:45-47; John 5:39)
the Living God
We believe there is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being…

The lord and savior Jesus
We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is true God and man. He died on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our High Priest and Advocate (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; Matt 1:18-25; Luke 1:35; Mark 1:1; John 1:14; Psalms 2:7; Gal. 4:4; I John 5:20; I Corinthians 15:47)
Humanity
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the work of the Holy Spirit can man’s salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Genesis 3:1-6, 24; Ezekiel 18:19-20; Romans 1:18; 1:20, 28, 32; 3:10-19; 5:12, 19; Ephesians 2:1, 3; Galatians 3:22; Titus 3:3-5)
salvation
We believe in a regenerated church membership: that is, persons old enough to understand their need for Jesus Christ and, of their own free will, repented of their sins, and accepted Him as their personal Lord and Savior. (Matthew 16:15-19; 18:15-20; Acts 2:41-42,47; 5:11-14; 6:3-6; 13:1-3; 14:23,27; 15:1-30; 16:5; 20:28; Romans 1:7; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 3:16; 5:4-5; 7:17; 9:13-14; 12; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:8-11,21; 5:22-32; Philippians 1:1; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 2:9-14; 3:1-15; 4:14; Hebrews 11:39-40; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
Last things
church membership
We believe salvation places a person into the spiritual, universal Body of Christ at the time of conversion, then the outward profession of faith and baptism places a person into membership within a local church body, with agreement to serve, support, honor the Lord and bear witness of Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:2, 12:13; Acts 2:41-47)
church ordinances
We believe that baptism is by immersion and the Lord’s Supper is a memorial to His suffering and death on the cross. These are ordinances to be observed by the church in its present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means for man’s salvation. Salvation is by grace through faith alone (Matthew 3:13-17; 26:26-30; 28:19-20; Mark 1:9-11; 14:22-26; Luke 3:21-22; 22:19-20; John 3:23; Acts 2:41-42; 8:35-39; 16:30-33; 20:7; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 10:16,21; 11:23-29; Colossians 2:12; Ephesians 2:8-9)
Church Governance
We believe in the autonomy of the local church under the lordship of Jesus Christ. The church shall manage its own affairs and shall not be subject to any other religious body or organization but shall seek to work in the cooperation with other local churches to further the work and witness for the kingdom of God. (Matthew 16:15-19; 18:15-20; Acts 2:41-42,47; 5:11-14; 6:3-6; 13:1-3; 14:23,27; 15:1-30; 16:5; 20:28; Romans 1:7; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 3:16; 5:4-5; 7:17; 9:13-14; 12; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:8-11,21; 5:22-32; Philippians 1:1; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 2:9-14; 3:1-15; 4:14; Hebrews 11:39-40; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Revelation 2-3; 21:2-3)
