Dr. Kevin Clarkson

Head Pastor

Kevin Clarkson began serving at Liberty Church in 2020. He is a native Oklahoman who trusted in Christ at age 14 and answered God's call to the gospel ministry at age 16. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a BA in Religion and History, then from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, with a Master of Divinity and then a Doctor of Ministry degree. He has taught New Testament Greek and Church History for Oklahoma Baptist University’s Ministry Training Institute.

During four decades of service, Dr. Clarkson has pastored in Oklahoma Grandview Baptist in Muskogee, First Baptist in Chickasha, First Baptist in Claremore, then First Baptist, Moore from 2001-2019. He has conducted numerous revival meetings and Bible conferences in that time. He served as television host and key writer for Prophecy in the News TV ministry and its magazine from 2015-2018, with weekly broadcasts into all majority English-speaking nations. Dr. Clarkson has done evangelistic mission work and trained local church pastors in Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, Brazil, Cuba, Wales, Ukraine, Belarus, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, and among the Zulu people of South Africa. He has led multiple tours to the Holy Land and Egypt.

In 2017, Kevin and Cherie established the Buffalo Joe Academy of Music in partnership with Little Ones Ministries, with three locations in Nicaragua and Mexico, in memory of their deceased son Joseph William (Joey). The Academy presents the gospel of Christ as it equips children and youth in the third world with music skills for entertainment, worship, and vocational pursuits.

Kevin has been married to Cherie (nee Salters) since 1982, and they have been blessed with seven children and eleven (and still counting) grandchildren. He loves to connect national and global events to the teachings of Scripture and God’s great plan of salvation.
